Use Signal, Threema or Status instead of Telegram or WhatsApp:

Today is the 15th of May, the day when WhatsApp’s (Facebook’s) new Privacy Policy comes into effect which means, although WhatsApp is supposedly End-to-End Encrypted (E2EE) despite being closed source to Facebook and the Chiefs.

Even Mark Zuckerberg uses signal, which is ironic considering his platform's business model is ad-surveillance tech.

Signal is well renowned for its encryption and security as well a provable private using its GitHub repository you can see everything ever committed, ever.

Despite the rise in Ethereum prices I do admire how you can accept money using nothing but a username as opposed to a long string of numbers and letters that is impractical for everyday use, some may be able to memorise an address, but most can’t, so ENS names are very useful.

You can buy a username using SNT, Statuses native digital token that works using the Ethereum network which means using the fee model, it doesn’t make for private transactions either since Ethereum also has a public ledger, and it’s now tied to your name (or pseudonym.) which can make you a target for hackers to extort. https://status.im/get/

There are many good reasons why people should be abandoning WhatsApp for more secure messaging apps.

(One of those reasons is that WhatsApp has had many more critical vulnerabilities than either Signal or Telegram.](https://cybernews.com/editorial/why-you-should-leave-whatsapp-for-signal-not-telegram/)
